Hi! Here’s yet another project I decided to start that nobody asked for! You can thank the global pandemic for kicking my butt to get this going!

I’ll be quick, but my full bio is here! This idea started several years ago. I am thankful to have a speaking platform to tell my ‘imposter to impact’ story. I am amazed at the feedback I receive, especially from so many students who have found my journey inspiring.

I am just one person but I worked for eight years with a talented group of incredible, African-American/Black public servants who lived and wrote history with the Obama Administration. Many I saw all the time and some I still don’t actually know but I thought to myself - if only everyone could hear them and their journey to government and who they were before their Obama years, then perhaps it would inspire so many, especially younger people who look like us to be in politics & public service. The students would see that we all didn’t have the usual template, blueprint or pedigree but found our place working for the first Black president. They may see that we weren’t all policy or legislation experts, but used our talents & interests to contribute greatly to a better world. I’m building this as I go but aim to bring more mentoring, scholarships, and resources to this page soon in collaboration with my former colleagues for some. I urge you to check our current programming, blog and stay tuned for more things on the horizon. Thank you. x
